Statement from the Board of Directors of the Wychwood Open Door - Updated August 13, 2019

The events that transpired in early August at our drop-in centre are tragic and deeply saddening. Our thoughts and sympathies go out to the victim’s family and friends and the entire Wychwood Open Door community.

We understand how shaken members of our community may be by this incident. We are committed to helping members, volunteers, staff and community members through this challenging situation.

Wychwood Open Door Drop-In is an essential service in the lives of many of our community’s most vulnerable people. We remain committed to continuing to provide the supports needed for our community members moving forward.

Welcome to Wychwood Open Door, a day-time drop-in centre serving homeless and socially isolated people in Toronto’s mid-town St. Clair West community since 1986. We exist to reduce social isolation, boost nutrition and help develop life skills among homeless and socially isolated people.
